Veterinary Dermatologist (ACVD or Residency-Trained)

The Missouri Veterinary Dermatology Center (MVDC) is the only dermatology-exclusive specialty practice in the St. Louis metro area and home to the region’s only two board-certified veterinary dermatologists. We are seeking a Board-Certified Veterinary Dermatologist (preferred) or Residency-Trained Veterinarian to join our growing, referral-based specialty practice in Wentzville, Missouri.

This is a unique opportunity to practice high-level dermatology in a privately owned, academically engaged practice with an established referral base, exceptional equipment, and a collaborative team culture.

Who We Are

MVDC is a privately owned and rapidly growing specialty practice with two board-certified veterinary dermatologists and currently one dermatology resident.
Due to continued growth and increasing referral demand, we are actively planning a transition into a new facility with expanded capacity, allowing for additional exam rooms, improved workflow, and long-term service growth.

Our practice has a strong teaching and mentorship culture. We host 3rd- and 4th-year veterinary students from the University of Missouri for two-week clinical rotations, and our dermatologists hold adjunct faculty appointments with the University of Missouri. This environment is ideal for clinicians who value education, academic collaboration, and mentorship while working in private practice.

We maintain a large and loyal referral base, attracting patients from Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois, and surrounding states.

Facilities & Equipment

Our hospital is well equipped to support advanced dermatologic care and an efficient, comfortable patient experience, including:

  • Aesculight CO₂ laser
  • Karl Storz Telecam and VetPump tower
  • Karl Storz C-MAC video otoscopes in every exam room
  • Cryopen
  • In-house immunotherapy compounding
  • Cat-only exam rooms to reduce stress and improve feline patient care
  • Lift tables for larger patients, supporting staff safety and patient comfort
  • Long-tenured, highly trained support team with a strong culture of collaboration and stability
  • Teaching microscope to support resident training, student education, and collaborative case review

Our space, equipment, and support staff allow dermatologists to focus on high-quality medicine, client communication, and teaching.

The Position

  • Board-Certified (ACVD) preferred or Residency-Trained candidates encouraged to apply.
  • Flexible scheduling, 4 day work week available based on role and experience
  • No weekends, emergency, or on-call responsibilities.
  • Opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of the dermatology service.
  • Strong case mix including allergy, otitis, immune-mediated disease, neoplasia, endocrine, and complex referral cases.
  • Mentorship and academic involvement available.
